Today was one of those days I couldn't have been more thankful for Jason. We were hosting a "happy moving to LA dinner" for Jamie. Jason spent the majority of the day cleaning and cooking for my side of the family. We made homemade pizzas (ham/pineapple, pepperoni, and even potato pizza!). I love how wonderful at cooking Jason is... he's never too afraid to try new things. I was planning on doing most of the cleaning, but I had forgotten a lot of things I needed to do for Jamie's party. Jason probably spent a lot more time cleaning than I did... I can't thank him enough for that.
For some reason I had it in my head that this dinner was going to be just like every other dinner. We'd eat, laugh, and when everyone left we'd all give each other hugs and say "drive safe, love you, see you later!" I was wrong. I didn't realize things were going to be different until Ash, Chris, Jace, and Jordyn said goodbye to Jamie. It was the last time they'd see him before he'd move. The part that really got me was when Ash said "Jordyn say bye to uncle Jamie." Jordyn, thinking this was just like every other dinner, waved across the room and said "bye Jamie." Ash told him he needed to come over and say bye. That's when Jamie started tearing up and with a cracked voice tried to explain he was moving and this was the last time he'd see him for a while. That's when it hit me. With each person Jamie said bye to, I began to realize this was a lot harder than I thought. Jason, being the unbelievably kind and observant man he is, began hugging me and keeping his arms around me through the rest of the evening, probably knowing I wasn't going to take the goodbye easily either. We sat with Jamie, mom, and Kat looking at old photo albums that Ash put together for Jamie. Pictures from when we were first born to just weeks before this night were in there. Then we finally had to say goodbye. Jamie walked over to me and gave me the longest and biggest hug I've ever had from him. Then I started to ball just like he was. Where's a two year old to make a funny noise when you need them! "I love you, don't do drugs" I told him. Then he left. Jason immediately told me to sit down on the couch so he could hug me. I looked like goo, just like I always do when I cry... Jason always disagrees when I say I look like goo. I love that I can look like an emotional wreck and I know it's okay in front of him. My whole life I've heard from people "you're too emotional. Don't let your emotions control you." Jason has never done that to me. He's always told me it's okay to be upset and I have a right to cry and even "look like goo." He's such a good man. Moments like that are why I love him so much. It meant a lot to me that saying goodbye to Jamie got to Jason too... I don't like Jason being sad of course, but it just showed that he really loves my side of the family, just like I love his side. We're so lucky.

Today we went back to work. Just like every day, I got my "Good morning love" text from Jason. That really makes my morning wonderful. I always look forward to those texts.
After work, Jason and I relaxed together and had some fun. I've always liked feeling taller than Jason, I don't know why. Sometimes we have contests to see who is taller. I stand... normally. Jason stands on his tip toes and tries to make himself taller. Well, today he did that. I then stood on the couch. He then raced up the stairs and stood on the highest part of the landing!! Such a cheater!! Once he'd reached the top he found the ragged, old ball of yarn we gave the cats to play with. He picked it up, threw it down at me and said "I'm the tallest f'er in the wold!!!!!!!" He's so awesome!! Even on boring days, he still makes life so much more fun. I'm still taller, by the way.
Later that night we went to Taco Mac and had dinner together. After dinner we walked around Ashley Park. I love our evening strolls in the "park." It's nice to be able to talk and hang out like when we were dating. After dinner we met my parents at their place. Luckily, Jamie was still there! I was slightly worried because I didn't want to go through a balling goodbye again, but it was really wonderful to see him. We were dropping off a lamp Jamie forgot to take with him from our place. We visited with family and Jason talked to my dad about... beer and bread! Shocker, I know! One of my favorite things about Jason is how much my parents love him. I know dad looks forward to talking to him every time he comes over... "Jason, would you like a beer." After that sentence, I can't find Jason. He and dad usually wander off somewhere and end up talking about projects, beer, and bread. I love that! After we hung out a little and said another goodbye to Jamie, we went home.
When I got home, I wanted to upload the pictures Jamie gave me on a flashdrive of our family. As we were going through the pictures, Jason and I found our wedding video. We watched it for fun. It was such a lovely wedding. Jason, as always, looked so handsome. I love that we did it our way, too. I have to say, the best way to end my day was to watch the moment I married the most amazing, handsome, and thoughtful man I've ever known.

Today Anna was coming over to say hi. Jason, being so amazing, helped me clean. Jason also made German potato salad while I made bratwurst... mmmmm! We were both in weird moods before cooking dinner... neither one of us seemed to feel like talking. I was in one of those weird moods were you aren't really unhappy but your not really happy... for no reason, too. Well, after cooking together things seemed to change. My mood was a lot better after getting to cook with Jason. Again: I love Jason because the little things we do together can be a lot of fun.

Today Jason and I woke up to a horrible storm! Instead of my alarm clock startling me, it was thunder. I got ready, ate breakfast, and then emailed Jason my daily "Good morning, have a good day" email. I then went to go kiss Jason goodbye. Jason was awake when I went to our bedroom to say goodbye. I sat down next to him and told him I was going to work. He informed me it was storming and asked me to be careful driving. He then told me to text him when I got to work so he'd know I'd be safe. I asked him to do the same. Not long after I got to work, I received a text telling me he had made it safely to work. Jason couldn't be more thoughtful with moments like this.
Jason is officially on-call for work. He will have to carry a phone all week in case of an emergency. Well, day one of his on-call and he gets a call. He had to come home late because of work. I just want to make it known that it means so much to me how hard Jason works. Working weeks like this isn't easy... and I know he does it for us. A wonderful provider... I think so!!
Once Jason got home we made tacos. This was one of those nights I asked Jason to let me cook without him... he'd already had a long day. Jason let me cook, but he was right there beside me :^) Even with long days... he doesn't just sit down and hide behind a newspaper or a computer. He was in the kitchen telling me how his day was. I love him for that!

I began my morning the usual way... by reading a loving text from my husband. "You are the most beautiful woman in the world." He's so sweet! He then asked me three times during the day "how are you?" Could he be any more caring?
Later that night we cooked spaghetti together. During the middle of cooking dinner... Jason's on-call phone rings. I finish dinner for him and put it beside his computer... he worked the rest of the night! That had to suck :^( To have to come home from working 9 hours just to work from the dinner table for the rest of the night. Love, you I couldn't admire you more for how hard you work. So many people try to get out of work and be lazy... those are two things you are most definitely not! You are one of the hardest working people I've ever known, and you are most certainly not lazy. Thank you for that. I hope I can always make it better for when you work a full day like this one.

Friday! Date night Friday! Jason and I spent a lovely evening at Panera Bread. Jason and I sat in a booth in the back... where Jason and I witnessed a woman give him "the eyes." She spotted him and looked him up and down over and over again. Jason, being the most amazing man ever, ignored her. He was also apparently holding in a laugh. She eventually saw me... and then acted as though she hadn't just checked out my husband. I, being me, got up and slapped her so hard across the face that my wedding ring will forever leave an imprint on her face! Then I got her a whore and sat down. Or... I smiled and then made fun of Jason for being hit on again :^) At least this time the girl hitting on him didn't give him a drink with something weird in it . . . that happened when we were dating at the Irish Pub... gotta watch out for those crazy red-heads! One thing that I love about Jason is how humble he is about the fact that he's so unbelievably handsome. I love that when someone gives him "bedroom eyes" he laughs at them and says people are more attractive when they are just themselves. I love that he loves me when I'm clumsy, loud, and look like goo. I will never wonder if Jason will leave me for someone else... he's too good of a man for that. I never will feel the need to slap the crap out of some girl throwing herself at Jason...I know he probably is just wondering why her face is twisted up weirdly instead of flirting back. Got to love a man like that :^)

Today Jason and I slept in. After a very long time, I finally got up. I told Jason to feel free to sleep more while I made breakfast. I made our usual honey crescent rolls. Jason then got up, grabbed breakfast, and then cuddled up with me on the couch to watch Frasier... our usual Saturday morning at the moment. I love that he works hard, but also is really good at relaxing. After much tv watching and relaxing, Jason asked if we'd like to try and experiment for lunch. He got the idea to make pepperoni pizza out of crescent rolls. MMMMmmm! It was a great experiment!
Around dinner time, Jason and I got ready and left to go get our nephew Jordyn... with a Y. He was spending the night at our place for the first time ever. He was so excited about sleeping on the couch-bed :^) We picked him up from his house and then told him we were taking him to a new restaurant... he guessed it was in Ashley Park. He was right. We went to Newks. As we sat down, I realized Jason had grabbed bread sticks... he was really sweet and let Jordyn and I have some. We all began having breadstick fights, which then turned to breadstick eating contests...whoever ate their breadstick the fastest wins. Jason's really good with kids... I love that about him. I think that's why we get along so well... I play like a 7 year old (if you haven't guessed by the stories I've already told)... and he's able to play with me :^)
After dinner, Jason and I took Jordyn to our place to make Sambuidgas... a.k.a. smores. "Smore" is the nickname for Sambuidgas... a guy named Sam invented it and they nicknamed it "smores" because everyone wants "s'more." Jason's awesome! We had a lot of fun with that. It was so cute to hear Jordyn say "Sambuidgas." Jason taught Jordyn how to build the fire and use the bellow. Jordyn loved the bellow. After making Sambuidgas and playing Mario Kart, we got the couchbed out and got ready for bed. Jordyn wondered why there was light coming into the living room... Jason sweetly pointed out that cars were just shinning their lights in the window. Jordyn was great and went to bed with no problems. Jason and I stayed up talking a little and eventually drifted off to sleep. Reason why I love Jason: he's great with family, kids, and is just one of the kindest men ever. I love you Mr. Brown.
