Brown Manor

March 25, 2012

Today was Hunger Games day! Jason and I began reading Hunger Games on his kindle today. One thing that I never ever want to stop doing is read books with Jason. I love getting to pick out a story and dive into it with him. It's like a much better version of watching a movie with friends. Movies don't last as long, they have fewer surprises, and they aren't as detailed as a book. I love getting to a shocking part of the book to look up at Jason and see his mouth has dropped in excitement with me!! It's so much fun to have someone to share the experience with. I'm so lucky to have him... he's such an amazing friend and love!

Today Jason and I are super excited! It's the day before we buy our house!!! We've been really worried though... we got a message from Brad, our loan officer, and he said we might need to push back our closing date. Said something about how they couldn't get in touch with the Appraisal guy... we were excited but worried. We both asked off work for tomorrow. Jason called the Appraisal guy Sunday and again on Monday to ask him what was going on... thank goodness he did!!! Because Jason did that, Brad said it looked like we could close on time... they pushed our time back from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. tomorrow. With that somewhat resolved, Jason and I resumed our work day. After work Jason and I decided we needed to relax so we read more of the Hunger Games... so exciting!!! It's such a good book. Today I am thankful that Jason doesn't just sit by and let life happen... he does what he can to make sure things go smoothly, like with the house. I also am thankful, however, that Jason knows how to relax . . . how to sit and read a book.

We bought a house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jason and I slept in this morning because we could :^) After a while we got dressed and went to eat at KFC. While at lunch we got a call from Brad. He told us we were good to go and he informed us how much our cashier's check should be for closing. We then headed to Bank of America and got the check. Then... off to Home Depot :^) We got our first few things for the house... a light socket, for example. We then headed off to the closing!! It all went so smoothly! Our loan officer and Terri Turner were there and they walked us through it so easily. We've heard nightmares from so many people about how much paper to sign and how completely confusing everything is... I guess we picked really wonderful people to set it all up for us. After signing papers, our Terri handed me a card and said "This is for you guys." I thanked her and then we all said goodbye. We then held the keys to our own home! Terri hugged us and congratulated us! What wonderful people! One we got back in the car I opened the card... she placed a $50 gift card in there for us... for Home Depot!!! She knows us so well :^) Jason and I immediately went to our new home!! We then went out to celebrate at Texas Road House! Mhmm! After such a busy, wonderful, and stills stressful day... we decided to read more Hunger Games. Such a wonderful day!!

March 28-31, 2012

I'm unfortunately am behind in writing . . . I made notes each day, but I've gotten backed up because recent house-buying adventures. Therefore, I will be writing one entry for the past few days... mainly because we pretty much did the same things each day. Basically Jason and I worked, came home, went to Home Depot (daily....), got paint supplies, painted the dining room red, and began putting in new light fixtures. Oh... also, we read the Hunger Games at the end of each day. Basically we've been unbelievably busy! Only things that were different was on the 30th we opened up an account with Suntrust ... awesome! Now that I've summarized what we did, I'd like to note the amazing things I noticed during these days about Jason :^)

March 28th I got a text from Jason that read: "Love, you are so wonderful. I can't wait to kiss your lips again and hold you." I love him!! So sweet!

The night of the 28th Jason made what I like to call... a Ghetto Air Spaceship. Not quite sure why I called it this, but I did. Jason and I decided we needed to make an air purifier with our fan. Jason got a ton of aluminum foil and put it around the fan and then began poking holes in it (still not sure how that works....). I looked at the thing and started laughing because it looked so weird!! Next thing I knew it was a Ghetto Air Spaceship :^) Jason and I laughed a looooong time :^) I love how much fun Jason is. He's so amazing at making these weird (albeit awesome) projects and homemade gadgets. I mean... how many people can make their own air purifier, tazer glove, or water filter.... amazing! I married a super awesome, creative, and ingenious man :^)

Another thing that I love about Jason... he reads. I know that's a weird one, but I love that about him. Not only does he read but he reads things no one else I know would read. I hate admitting this and I would never admit it to his face.... I even kind of, sort of . . . like the fact that he read the stupid Pride and Prejudice and Zombies book. I can't believe I'm putting that in writing. I still hate that book... no one get me wrong about that. But I love that he is willing to try new things and read whatever . . . I would never do that. I probably miss out on a lot of good books, too, because I don't read anything (Not saying I missed anything with Pride and Prejudice and Zombies... I'm still write about that one). Also... I love that Jason reads with me. So many people seem so amazed when we tell them we read books together... I'm so thankful for that! It's so much more fun and entertaining when you can enjoy a good book with someone you love.

Another thing about Jason I love: he encourages me to have hobbies. On the 30th, Jason did his own projects while I worked on my mom's birthday present (her quilt). I am so thankful Jason wants me to be happy and do things that make me happy. So many people aren't okay with their spouse working on projects without them... I'm so thankful he gives me space. I hope I'm as good as he is with that... I love that he has his projects and likes to spend time investing in ghetto air spaceships ;^)
